DAPSONE at Medical Glossary
What is it? An antibiotic active against Pneumocystis carinii, leprosy, and other pathogens, and to a lesser degree against toxoplasma gondii and MAC. Often used as a second line PCP prophylaxis in those unable to tolerate trimethoprim-sulphamethoxazole.Medical Definition Added By: Molly
